Let's pair up to pick a clippy issue to work on and then code up a PR for it with the help of llogiq.
What participants will learn:
- How contributing to rust-clippy works
- How to write and/or improve lints
Some nightly features we use because clippy needs to be on nightly anyway.
Some rustc compiler internals -- contributing to clippy is a simple gateway to Rust compiler development.
Admission to the workshops is included with the Rustikon and Scalar conference ticket and is free of charge.
Please note that spots are limited to 30.
Andre 'llogiq' Bogus was born in 1977 in Frankfurt, Germany. After an early career as musician and voice actor, he turned to programming. He's now got a quarter century of IT experience. He started learning Rust in early 2015 by writing what is now clippy's eq_op lint. Since then, he co-maintains clippy and has written more than 100 lints. He's also a Rust Mentor and a This Week in Rust editor. He has given three Clippy Lint Implementer's Workshops so far.
